Wifetime started as an accident. Clamoring for a pickup band to fill a local bar slot, Olivia Ellen Lloyd, Andrea Asprelli, and Sam Dallas found themselves playing music together for the first time. While feeling out what tunes they might all know, it became quickly apparent that their voices were primed for three -part harmony. With Andrea’s mellow alto, Sam’s powerful soprano and Olivia….hanging around somewhere in the middle. The music came intuitively and easily. Since then, they've been filling bars and back rooms across Brooklyn with songs from the Carter Family, traditional bluegrass, and their original songs.

The name was kind of an accident, too. It is a nod to local music fan and supporter, Dave Sussman, who calls his days off from attending concerts “Wife time”. The band liked the idea of free advertising, and so they adopted the name as their own.

Olivia and Andrea are talented songwriters in their own right; Lloyd's debut album Loose Cannon premiered to critical acclaim in February 2021 and Asprelli's project Cricket Tell the Weather was a Freshgrass band contest winner and toured nationally from 2013-2018. Sam can be seen virtually any night of the week backing bands up with her solid bass chops and lilting soprano; she plays a range of Bluegrass and Americana across the city in numerous projects.
